Top Activities for Families at Barwon Heads

Barwon Heads is one of my favourite places in the world. No question.

It has the best of all worlds: opportunity to reconnect with nature, simple pleasures like a beach walk, great coffee and beautiful natural surrounds. It has everything you could possibly want from a coastal holiday, but without the heightened frenzy of its peninsula neighbours.

Best of all Barwon Heads has something for everyone to savour, whether it be sporting pursuits (think golf, swimming, surfing, cycling, bowls, tennis for starters), pampering, solitude, a vibrant market culture, natural attractions or culinary treats.

My review of this seaside town, with an eye on the most diverse of family groups, is now published by Weekend Notes. You can read it here.

How to Host a 'Super Moon' Party

What a great excuse for a Full Moon Party!

If weather permits the night sky in the Earth’s Southern Hemisphere will be bathed in brighter than usual light when a ‘Super Moon’ makes its presence felt on Sunday 23rd June, 2013. In Melbourne the full moon will rise at around 9.33pm.

The phenomenon known as the Super Full Moon occurs when the distance between Earth and its moon are at their closest, and the moon may appear 14% larger, and also brighter than usual. In 2013 the 9.30pm rising is a more family-friendly prospect that it may be in other years. You can calculate the moon rising in other locations here

So what might a Super Moon Party, or a Full Moon Party, look like? Inspiration for a gathering or party at yours are now published by Weekend Notes. Read the full article.
