Who knows how many centuries people have been using flora for decorative purposes. From dried arrangements, to sketches, daisy chains, or a flower behind your true-love's ear, flowers have probably always provided creative inspiration.

Botanica is the flavour of the month this September at Red Rock Arts in Cororooke, offering a chance ot give birth to new ideas by participation in workshops with an expert in the field, or submitting work to a curated exhibition.

Serious craft is afoot this winter in Colac, with Cross Pollination, a meeting of creative minds and talents at Colac Otways Performing Arts Cultural Centre.

Firmly focused on textiles, the event will incorporate three art exhibitions, day-long workshops, and a makers' market.
